From the seemingly endless mountain views, to its ancient glaciers — there’s all levels of adventure to be experienced in this incredible State.

As elopement photographers we travel all over the world to document couples wedding days, but Alaska is truly NEXT-LEVELl. It’s a place that inspired me to be an adventure photographer. This place continually fuels my passion for exploring, adventuring and documenting the journey as it unfolds.

Alaska’s literally the perfect place to have your wedding if you have a deep connection with the natural world, harbor towns, craggy peaks, glacier filled lakes, Moose and a thirst for real adventure!

WHAT’S THE PROCESS FOR GETTING
MARRIED IN ALASKA?

The Alaskan Frontier is such a wild and incredible place to start your forever adventure together.

Alaska is filled with mind blowing views, the tallest mountain peak in North America, alpine lakes, waterfalls, rocky shorelines, dense forests, glaciers, endless hiking trails and all the wildlife you could imagine.

It’s home to all kinds of adventure, you can road trip from Anchorage to Seward along the iconic Turnagain Arm stopping at all the pullouts and viewpoints on the ocean along the way, or grab your hiking gear and head out on a multi-day journey into Denali National Park peeping views of Mt. Denali and wildlife the entire way.

Getting married in Alaska is really easy all you gotta do is:

  1. Pick your date

  2. Hire your photographer

  3. Apply for any special use ceremony permits you may need.

We can help with this part!

  4. Hire your vendors
We can help with this also!

  5. Get married!!

OUR TOP 3 FAVORITE PLACES TO GET MARRIED IN ALASKA

WHITTIER, AK

This is one of the coolest harbor towns I’ve ever been to. It’s a town of all of just over 300 full time residents but boasts a wild 700,000 summer visitors annually! This is an old military hub turned visitor hot spot. You can access this tiny town by car, train, ship, plane or ferry. This place is perfect for an off the beaten path kinda wedding day. You could hike, kayak, water taxi or cruise to your wedding ceremony location on Prince William Sound. Popular things to do in the area are whale watching, glacier cruises, hikes, dive or go out on commercial fishing charters.

MATANUSKA GLACIER

This is the place for amazing glacier views and adventures. Want to do something a little extra badass on your wedding day or day after adventure? Hit up Matanuska Glacier for sure — you can hire a private guide that’ll bring you to the really rad spots. PLUS — you can glacier trek, ice climb, heli-adventure, or just take in the views from the parking lot!

DENALI NATIONAL PARK

If this is your first time in Alaska or it’s an old favorite of yours — you know Denali National Park is a pretty big deal! This National Park is next level, the views from the road will blow your freaking mind. If you really want to get in it for your elopement and have one hell of an Alaskan Bush experience with epic views, seclusion and all the bears, this place is perfect! Some couples opt for a two day wedding experience to take advantage of the views deeper in the park where we can all camp together, wake up at sunrise, get out there and experience your wedding day adventure in the Alaskan bush!
