Your Styled Shoot + Photography Workshop Host

Hey, itβs me, Cass!
Your nerdy host and adventure bud! Iβm an experienced elopement photographer here to give you a new kind of learning opportunity focused on creating authentic moments and experiences. Below is a little bit about my elopement photography journey, why I feel so pulled to educating, inspiring, and connecting with yβall and how I help you achieve your business goals.
Why I believe in community and education:
Shooting my first wedding in 2006 started my journey to my:
first elopement in 2008
first destination wedding in 2013
first international wedding in 2016
first time going full time wedding photography 2018
first adventurous elopement in 2018
first time attending a photography workshop in 2019
first time hiring a business coach + 3 month Mastermind 2020
first time niching down to just elopements 2020
first time charging what I wanted, instead of what I thought I was βworthβ 2020
first National Park elopement 2020
first dream Ice Climbing elopement in AK 2021
On my own it took me 10 years to finally feel secure enough to go in photography full time, eliminating side hustles that supplemented my income. From there, it took me another 3 years to finally have enough additional income to invest in some education and attend my first in-person workshop. It was a decision that completely changed my life and business. In just 3 days, I gained the clarity, inspiration, and support I needed to admit to myself that I was on the right track, pursuing my dream life and business. After that, I realized the benefits of investing in education and, in 2020, decided to take a deep dive into my βwhyβ through a 3 month Mastermind coaching program.
The experience transformed the way I think about pretty much everything, but most importantly how I show up and SERVE my couples. These experiences encouraged exponential growth in myself and my business. With the help of others guiding, supporting and encouraging me along the way, I learned quickly just how important and transformative a community really is. Plus, it helps to know what pitfalls to avoid and what really moves the needle in terms of the kind of growth you want.
I say all this because I want to save you the 12 years it took me to realize my true path and mission. That is to say, I want to help you make the breakthroughs that will push your business to the next level. Each personβs journey will look different, but whether youβre looking to gain elopement experience or build a healthy support system, a quality photography/videography content day or workshop can mean the difference.
What is a Photography Workshop?
Between YouTube, Patreon, private mentorships, online education and in-person trade shows, there are SO many ways for you to learn the art and business of elopement photography and videography. What I believe separates an in-person workshop apart from all that is the mix of education, experience, and creative freedom. Workshops tend to be 1-2 full days of classes, shoots and networking, centered around a particular topic of interest. Attendees can get in-depth knowledge on diverse topics from experts and learn alongside colleagues and mentors in creative shoots. And, when kept as a small group of attendees, the intimate environment allows your unique wants and needs to not get lost in the shuffle, as in a large event or online group training.
Itβs an opportunity for you to meet other creative individuals in a beautiful place where you can learn from each other, as well as your mentor.
You have the opportunity to learn new techniques, marketing strategies, website SEO, and how to run a successful and profitable business!
AND, you get to stretch those creative muscles with styled shoots catered to your area of interest.
What is a Photography Content Day?
There are a lot of different words for photography/videography content days (e.g. shootout, styled shoot, mock shoot, retreat, inspirational session, etc.) each with varying offerings, cost, and worth. Content days tend to be more affordable and accessible than workshops, and are often less focused on technical training and more on building a portfolio. Choosing what opportunity to invest in can be tricky, which is why I want to be upfront about what I believe a photography content day is and how I will host them.
To me, a content building day is an opportunity to meet and work with other entrepreneurs with similar goals in mind, all the while feeding your personal creativity. It means finally creating content that speaks to your ideal client, networking with professionals in your niche, trying new techniques, honing your craft and, most importantly, being free to create without the stress of real client expectations.
My content days will include all the parts you already know and love about content daysβwith a few twists. At a Narrowleaf photography content day, youβll have the opportunity to photograph an authentic couple through a mock elopement day, capturing heartwarming in-between moments, epic adventurous activities and landscapes. Plus, youβll have ample time during the shoot to be lead photographer, so you can engage with the couple in a way thatβs true to you and your artistic spirit.
NO classes, NO expectations, NO judgment, NO stress.
You get to just show up and fulfill your vision on your own terms!
