Glacier National Park Wedding

Glacier National Park Wedding Requirements

in West Glacier, Montana

Having your wedding in Glacier National Park does require a permit and the ceremony can only be held at specific locations inside the park with different guest limits at each.

For more information on weddings in Glacier National Park visit the National Park Service Wedding info Website or reach out to us, we are happy to help.

Note: Leave No Trace Ethics were respected during this wedding ceremony and the following adventures in the park. We worked directly with the GNP permit office to ensure all rules were respected and followed.

Rules and regulations can change yearly, so some of these locations may no longer be accessible in the future- please do your research when getting married and adventuring in National Park Lands. <3

NATORI + JOEL’S GLACIER NATIONAL PARK WEDDING

From the beginning Natori and Joel knew they wanted a ‘just us’ experience filled with adventure, mountains, exploring together and space to truly be themselves on their wedding day. A Glacier National Park wedding was clearly the perfect fit for them to celebrate surrounded by craggy mountain peaks, wildflower meadows and bright aqua colored alpine lakes. And because Glacier National Park cannot be explored in just a day, they opted for a 2 day wedding day adventure and I am still so freaking stoked they did!

Day 1 — Mountain View Ceremony

We met at the Belton Chalet where Natori and Joel got ready together. From there we headed to the park for their vow ceremony among the mountains. Although I knew there were people around because the area is a very popular overlook along the Going to the Sun Road, it was as if time stood still- for a moment it was just them vowing to a lifetime of loving each other in the most true and honest way with the mountains and meadows as their guests. It was such an honor to not only witness, but document that beautiful moment as well.

From there we hopped in the vehicles again, walkie talkies in hand - for us to communicate the next stop and some silliness along the way (lots of “Roger Dodger”s & “Eagle Out”s!) We arrived at the trail and set off on their first official hike as newlyweds. The plan was to hike to this epic viewpoint overlooking the lake, then enjoy some cake while soaking up the whole experience. But we definitely got a little too wrapped up in the views and missed our turn on the trail -which had a nice big sign at the trail fork that I have a photo of us walking straight on past in the wrong direction, lol! We quickly course corrected in time to make it the view as the sun was setting behind the mountains tho and it was truly EPIC!

After hiking back out we mini road tripped again to a couple other beautiful stop offs along the route, saw some mountain goats and ended day 1 at sunset.

Day 2  — Glacier Park Wedding Hike

This day was all about the journey and going on an adventure together, we had planned a pretty long hike to an alpine lake unlike any others in the park, but it was cut short due to an afternoon thunderstorm that we deemed a little too risky to push forward (and some Rangers on the way back confirmed our anxieties). However, we still managed to see an incredible sunrise over the most iconic lake in Glacier National Park, as well as a solid hiking adventure to another truly picturesque lake in the mountains and we squeezed in another mini road trip through the park filled with photo ops and exploration along the way!

It was truly a beautiful thing to be a part of their adventure wedding days, I cannot wait to see what the future holds for these two incredible people!!
