We road tripped, hiked, explored and even got attacked by ferocious “jumping” wood ticks!!
When not photographing couples and weddings, I spend my time either exploring new locations or working with new talented models. Together we collaborate, create and adventure! After a short plane ride from her home in Texas, our adventure started in rural Wisconsin at my favorite local park.
From there we quickly packed up the curling iron, makeup, outfits and started heading north! Our first stop along the way was at an old rock quarry near Hinkley, MN. The ruins that still stand in the park created the perfect background for the first style. Little did we know, while innocently waiting for my assistant to grab a flower for the models hair, a vicious creature would fly straight into her face not once, but twice!!! As you can imagine it was a straight shot out of the woods and back to the car with some debate on whether wood ticks can jump… for the record they cannot!!
Our final stop brought us to a very popular tourist spot in Two Harbors, MN. Which happens to be another one of my favorite places to explore!! There is something truly amazing about the Lake Superior waves crashing on the chiseled rock shore that really gets my creative mind working!
